Our breeding plans. The last few months we get the question: " Have you stopped breeding TM's ?
The answer is easy and clear: NO, we haven't stopped breeding with the TM !!!!
Also this season we will not breed TM's. The reason is simple we have 19 TM's and 5 TS. The youngest one is 8 months old and oldest one is almost 12 years old.
All our dogs live in our home with us and as you will understand our home is a little bit crowded at this moment. We can only blame ourselves for this.
When we breed we always keep two or more puppies by ourselves and we want to give our older dogs a happy retirement.
Dogs we don't use anymore for showing or breeding are still a part of our life and family.
We expect to breed our next litter in the season of 2007-2008.

The Altnaharra pack in the Netherlands.
All our Tibetan Mastiffs live with us in our home, and all day the door is open, even in the winter, so that the dogs can walk in and out. Otherwise, you can play doorman all day. Only at nightdo most of the dogs go into the kennel to sleep, though a few stay in the house. We have males and females, all different ages: we have a real pack. Our oldest one, Precious ( born on January 10, 1991), is still the big boss, she only has to look and the others leave her alone. She and Hooch have given us beautiful litters, for example the A litter, with Andor and Alena in it. Alena is still alive, born on February 04, 1995 , she is a Multi Champion, very healthy and acts like a young dog. We lost Andor (he was also a Multi Champion ) when he was almost 8 years old he suffered from a brain tumour. It was very difficult to let him go and it still is. He gave us beautiful children: Bargamo, Benares, Pradesh and Bharat. His other children found good homes all over the world. That is the difficult part of breeding: finding good homes for the puppies. Alena has given us Matsang, our first Tibetan to win Group 2 in Laussane, Switzerland, Indra, the mother of our Shanti ( January 08, 2003 ), Arada and Blixy. Our Nanda is from Switzerland, as is Tama ( January 26, 2003 ). We bred Nanda twice and she gave us beautiful puppies with better movement, and that is something that we need in Europe.
Since February 2003 we also have Tibetan Spaniels, the character of a Tibetan Mastiff but in a much smaller package. They are great friends all together and we decided that we needed another Tibetan Spaniel to keep Lithang company . So our Shena (“Grizzly”) moved in with us in April and she is something. She is afraid of nothing and she tells the big ones, in a ”nice” easy way, who is the boss, she only has some respect for Precious. The puppies are born and grow up in our house. When they are 4 weeks old they live together with the big dogs. The big dogs are very sweet to them, even the males. Only Bargamo thinks that 4 weeks old puppies are too small, and runs away from them. He likes them more once they are 8 weeks old, then he play with them. Precious lets the puppies know who is the boss the first time they come out of the room they were born in. The other big dogs take care of the puppies and watch over them. In turns we take them out for walks, otherwise it would be difficult. There is a little lake nearby and there we take them too. They can run loose there and swim if they want. Really….. we have some Tibetans who like to swim !!!! FOr example, our Shanti swims like a Newfoundland, no splashing around but really swimming. Tama likes it too and our Tibetan Spaniel, Lithang, also. We like the nature of the Tibetan very much, although they can be difficult. If they are bored than they can be really annoying, especially when it rains day after day, they can be very annoying. And it rains a lot in Holland.
